Ghana’s Black Maidens will face Morocco in the final qualifying play-off for the 2022 FIFA Under-17 Women’s World Cup after progressing past Guinea 10-1 on aggregate.
The Maidens gave goalkeeper Coumbassa a baptism of fire in Cape Coast as they defeated Guinea 7-0 in the second leg qualifier on Saturday, following a 3-1 win in Conakry in the reverse fixture on April 16.
Midfielder (Nancy Amoh) opened the scoring for Ghana in the 12th minute with an expertly struck corner-kick that landed on the blind side of goalkeeper Coumbassa.
Captain (Georgina Ayisha) doubled Ghana’s lead with a long range strike in the 18th minute before Nancy Amoh registered her brace in the 29th minute with another corner-kick that went straight into the net.
Back from half-time, super-sub Dejean Kubura, who came on for attacker Miriam Maltiti Iddi, made it 3-0 in the 49th minute and Mary Amponsah increased the tally in the 53th minute.
Winger (Constance Serwaa Agyemang), who came off the bench to replace Rasheeda Shahadu, also recorded a brace after placing the ball past Goalkeeper Coumbassa in the 70th minute and then scored from an expertly converted free-kick in the 81st minute.
The Black Maidens need to beat Morocco over two legs in the India 2022 qualifying play-off to book a spot for the U-17 World Cup, which kicks off on October 11, 2022.
